Château Margaux is a wine estate in the Margaux appellation of the Bordeaux region of France, and was one of only four wines to achieve Premier cru status in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification.
The 2015 vintage was an exceptional year in Bordeaux, characterized by a warm, dry summer that allowed for optimal ripening. The resulting wine displays remarkable depth and complexity.
Deep ruby color with hints of garnet at the rim, showing excellent clarity and brilliance.
Complex aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco, and subtle notes of violets and graphite. Well-integrated oak adds layers of vanilla and toast.
Full-bodied with velvety tannins. Rich flavors of dark berries, plum, and cassis balanced by fresh acidity. Long, elegant finish with notes of spice and dark chocolate.
Pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye steak, lamb chops, aged cheeses, or mushroom risotto.
This 2015 Margaux is absolutely stunning. Perfect balance of fruit and structure. The elegance is remarkable. Well worth the price for a special occasion.
Lovely wine with complex aromatics. Still quite young, so I'd recommend decanting for at least an hour before serving. The finish is long and satisfying.
A classic Margaux with great aging potential. The tannins are firm but refined. If you can wait 5-10 years, this will be spectacular.
